September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to fundraise for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the quantity of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and therefore we have a serious need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, reiterated Schneider’s thoughts. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in North Carolina – for both females and males.”
