Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

    August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to give more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last year, I had the opportunity to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a vital part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they receive to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume assistance along with budgeting and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.

“All the team members were so ecstatic that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took us around their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
