The NATE-Certification Advantage

March 20, 2018

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning proudly sends NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes throughout North America every day. While this distinction of being Nate-Certified surely sounds reaffirming, what does it really mean?

NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been accepted by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the industry are required to be NATE-Certified. The certification is non-mandatory and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration units without the certification.

It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are sending the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that measure the technician’s understanding of these guidelines.

Since Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians attain their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may earn certification in one or more of these areas:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Distribution
  • Gas Heating
  • Oil Heating
  • Heat Pumps
  • Hydronic Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)
  • Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
  • Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst

You can be sure that the technicians at Service Experts are highly competent and professional and will do the job correctly from the start. Our company has the ability and skill set to not only fix your HVAC systems, but to take the best care of your equipment. Call to have one of our NATE-Certified experts inspect your HVAC system to ensure that it is ready to secure your family’s comfort all season long.
