"The young fellow who showed up on Nov 11 to do the work was friendly, knew his stuff, and did a good and quick job. So far, so good. But when we made our initial appointment to do the repairs (on Oct 31, following our earlier inspection), nobody showed. I called in and made another appointment, for Nov 3, but the guy who came to the house had not been informed as to what repairs were needed, and thought he was just supposed to do another inspection. That's two afternoons in one week when my feet were nailed to the floor, waiting for service calls that in the end produced no work. Finally, the repairs were made on Nov 11, but more and better coordination is needed..."

"The technician was onsite a month ago for the same issue and apparently mis-diagnosed the problem resulting in additional water damage to the ceiling. Two of our units had problems for which Strand Brothers recommended very expensive solutions (unit replacement). This appears to be a continuing pattern weve observed with Strand Brothers. We contacted the company that had installed the other units and they resolved the problems with only a trip charge. Strand Brothers uses the Advantage program (no trip charge, Veteran benefits, priority service) to get access to the customer and then recommends non-essential work at exorbitant rates."

"Service took 5 weeks (mid July - mid Aug) to complete with home A/C down the entire time. Compressor was first replaced but the system did not run. New control board was ordered, took 2 weeks to arrive. I understand parts shortages are not under your control and Billy provided excellent service through the experience, identifying the old compressor was under warranty. New control board did not fix the issue. Technician later identified 1/2 a leg of the AC power to the unit might be the problem. Working with breakers did not solve the issue so a hard start was ordered. Hard start did not fix the issue. A second technician later said the control board might be bad. Billy had a supervisor come to the site on week 4 who stated the new compressor must be at fault. Another compressor was ordered and installed, finally fixing the system. In the end 2 compressors, starter capacitor, and control board were replaced and a hard start was added (not originally part of the system). I don't fault the parts issue but the system debugging feels problematic and lead down a number of bad roads, leaving an overall bad feeling about Strand Brothers abilities."

"PLUMBING ONLY: The service rep who came out NEVER bothered to look at the leak, let alone lift up the meter box or check out anything remotely associated with the leak. He stood there and informed me it would be $1,350 to repair. First of all, that is bull shit and I am too old and too experienced to know that is not even acceptable in the service industry. If he had done his research, found the issue and explained to me what was the issue and what would be entailed in the repair, I might have been more receptive. I absolutely love your HVAC team. But I will NEVER call a Plumber from your organization again - EVER!!!!! You must think just because I live in Belterra that you can charge me what ever the hell you want. NOT THIS GAL!!!"

"Strand Brothers plumbers are some of the best. I had an issue with water pressure and water flow at my house immediately after the smart meter was installed. I reached out to Frank (the plumbing manager). I specifically requested Carlos because he recently completed a major plumbing repair (earlier this year) and his expertise was outstanding. Carlos did a thorough assessment of the water pressure/flow situation and determined that the meter was responsible for the flow restriction. He even took the time to speak with the city dispatch to explain what he found. Carlos always goes above and beyond for his customers."

"In late July Austin Water installed a smart meter and I immediately had a water pressure drop within minutes. Carlos came out and did a detailed and thorough assessment of the extremely low water pressure/low flow issue. With his information I was able to get Austin Water and Aclara to replace the smart meter the following day. Carlos even took the time to explain his findings to dispatch at Austin Water. I am so grateful that Carlos and the plumbing manager (Frank) responded so quickly."

I would call the number that was left And it would to the call center and they could not accept payment instructions. One person said they didnt need payment instructions to proceed with service. I went through 4 calls before Katie left her direct line. First off, if the scheduling center cant accept payment info then the main office in Austin should simply leave a direct line so the customer can quickly resolve the issue and get serviced. The loop of calls to the scheduling center that cant accept payment should never happen. This is a easy fix."

"My invoice did not reflect the 15% ded that as a service member, I was suppose to get. The lead tech told me it would be a 286.00 charge since they were finishing installation I started with my purchase of the disposal. Thought that was kind of high for 20 minutes of work, and ask did include trip charge of 99.00, and was told no. All in all, I was just glad to get tech out to finish the job I had started 2 days prior and slightly injured myself at right shoulder, trying to finish it up. Not to mention almost being banged on the 'noggin' by the disposal itself. But I gave these guys a 8, just due to fact they were able to get out to my home, whereas the locals would not even bother to return calls (except for one firm who couldn't get out til wednesday). But I have to accept the charges but I don't think my 15% discount was applied..and I've not yet heard from any customer service supervisor. Reading reviews, I see Strand Bros have a problem of unreturned calls by supervisors/customer service managers."

"I bought a top of the line Lennox HVAC system. It has a lot of complicated technical settings. The technician checked all the normal HVAC things and found nothing, so I asked him about the settings. He changed the Aux Heating Activation threshold from the 2.5 default to zero. Since the problem was the Aux Heating was coming on too soon, the zero setting was the opposite of what needed to happen. I changed the setting to 3 after reading the Owners manual. I called Strand Bros and the Manager is supposed to call me, but I am still waiting. I have 2 more years to use Strand Bros to maintain this system, and I hope they improve their service and can send someone who knows how to make my heat pump actually work."

I'm not sure why they came out. There is no way I get involved with that crazy quote they sent me when I see the damn leak and see where the water is coming out. I can even say it's the cold water pipe going into the bathroom as the water is cold. I will say the technicians were polite and respectful but they basically refused to look at the area I pointed out. I could hear the water. As it turned out a shovel wasn't even required to see what was going on. Bottom line is I'm hiring someone else for all my plumbing issues. I may continue to use you guys for AC and Heating issues as you've always done a good job."

"Strand Brothers installed our Advantage Lennox unit and should have the info on the size of the A/C filter. When I called to request a new filter, I was asked the size. The technician brought the incorrect size on 8/5. We are still waiting for the technician today who should have been here inbetween 10:00 and 12:00. The incorrect filter is on our porch.. Please just leave the correct sized filter. Also, since these filters may need to be replaced more than every 6 months, why no adopt a policy to leave at least 2 filters every time the unit is checked. I check our filter monthly. I would think Strand Brothers would prefer to provide the filters rather than to be up against some type of high cost for repairs of the unit."
